Standard glass vibrates easily when struck by sound waves. Our secondary glazing units utilize specialized acoustic laminate glass. This glass features a microscopic, dampening polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer sandwiched between two sheets of high-mass glass. This layer acts as a core acoustic barrier, absorbing and breaking down sound wave energy before it can enter your room.

Project Investment & Installation Terms

Our secondary glazing solutions are highly technical structural installations that require absolute precision to ensure an airtight, soundproof seal. We operate under clear, professional commercial terms: 

• Onsite Survey & Measure Up: We charge £80 + VAT for an expert, on-site structural measurement survey. This ensures your bespoke window frames are engineered down to the exact millimetre.

• Payment Terms: To initiate the manufacturing of your bespoke acoustic glass units, payment for the secondary glazing system is required in full on order. The remaining installation and calibration balance is settled strictly on completion.

• Logistical Surcharges: Due to the extreme density and thickness of specialized acoustic laminate glass, these units are super heavy. An additional handling surcharge applies to projects requiring the manual transport of frames up or down stairs.
