Sustainable & Recycled Soundproofing Solutions | Arthur Acoustics
Eco-Friendly Acoustic Engineering for Greener Homes and Offices
At Arthur Acoustics, we believe that achieving world-class silence shouldn’t come at an environmental cost. As the UK moves towards a more sustainable future, we are proud to offer a range of recycled soundproofing systems that deliver elite decibel reduction while minimising your carbon footprint.
Based at our Henlow showroom, our expert team—led by Mike and Steve Arthur—specialises in the design and installation of eco-friendly acoustic walls, floors, and ceilings across London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Cambridgeshire.
Our Sustainable "Green" Build Specifications
We have hand-selected the industry's most effective recycled materials to create high-performance acoustic barriers.
1. Gyproc SoundBloc Infinaé 100 (Recycled Plasterboard)
We are proud installers of British Gypsum’s Gyproc SoundBloc Infinaé 100. This is the UK’s first acoustic board made from 100% recycled gypsum. It provides the same high-density mass as standard SoundBloc to stop airborne noise, but with a significantly lower environmental impact.
2. AM Ecoboard
For projects requiring high-impact strength and superior acoustic damping, we use AM Ecoboard. Manufactured entirely from recycled plastic and paper, these boards are fire-rated and water-resistant, making them an incredible sustainable alternative to traditional timber-based boards.
3. Cellulose Acoustic Insulation (Void Filling)
Our signature Cellulose Pump-In service uses the Cyclone machine to fill cavities with insulation made from 85–100% recycled paper. This non-toxic, eco-friendly material is a "triple threat," providing:
-
Superior Sound Absorption by filling every air gap.
-
Thermal Efficiency to lower energy bills.
-
Certified Fire Protection within your wall and floor voids.
4. Recycled Metal Studs & High-Performance Framing
For the structural skeleton of your soundproof wall, we utilise lightweight steel framing. Steel is one of the world's most recycled materials, and our metal stud systems offer a more sustainable and acoustically flexible alternative to timber. These systems allow for "decoupled" designs, preventing sound vibrations from travelling through the building's structure.
Bespoke Clay Plaster Finishes: The Ultimate Non-Toxic Surface
For clients seeking the pinnacle of healthy, sustainable design, we offer professional finishing in Clay Plaster. Unlike standard gypsum finishes, clay is a 100% natural, "breathable" material that contains zero VOCs or synthetic chemicals.
Why Choose Clay Plaster for Your Acoustic Project?
-
Natural Humidity Regulation: Clay acts as a passive humidity regulator, absorbing and releasing moisture to maintain a healthy indoor climate—ideal for home cinemas and recording studios.
-
Health & Wellbeing: Clay is naturally anti-static and non-toxic, significantly improving indoor air quality for allergy sufferers.
-
Low Embodied Energy: It is one of the most environmentally friendly finishes available, requiring minimal energy to produce compared to traditional cement or gypsum plasters.
-
Aesthetic Excellence: Available in a stunning array of natural earth pigments, clay plaster provides a unique, textured depth that eliminates the need for additional painting.
By pairing our recycled acoustic boards with a clay plaster finish, we can provide a soundproofing solution that is as healthy for the planet as it is for your home.
